It is about Dye-ing!
Author Taslima Nasreen's reluctant gesture to withdraw the "controversial" sentences from her work had a bit to do with her hair dye. It sounds bizarre but true! Top sources in the Ministry of External Affairs ministry claim Taslima hates every minute in the "safe house" given by the union government and is proving to be a difficult guest. Apparently she is constantly throwing tantrums. The "safe house" has too many restrictions for her. There are no telephones, no social interaction etc. Minister Pranab Mukherjee was reportedly at his wits end when he heard the grouse that the author wanted someone to dye her hair. Now where would and how the MEA, intelligence and home ministry officials could get a "safe" person to dye her hair!

Salman Khan's Paranoia
Is it by design or mere coincidence that Salman Khan and his once-upon-a-time girlfriend Aishwarya Rai haven't come face-to-face after she became Mrs. Bachchan? Bollywood insiders said it is because Salman Khan has been going out of his way to avoid encounters of any kind with his ex.
Khan has been using all the evasion tactics (placing an informer at public events, marriages and private parties) to update him about the movements of the Bachchans so he doesn't find himself at the same venue as Ash and her new hubby, who is always by her side at every event.
At a recent wedding reception of the Wizcraft MD at Mumbai's Taj, Salman made a back-door entry to the ballroom with brother Sohail Khan and bodyguard Shera minutes after the Bachchans (Amitabh, Aishwarya and Abhishek) left the premises. He made sure he didn't make his entry until AB's Baby and Bahu had exited.
The modus operandi was simple. Salman's bodyguard Shera was present at the reception to keep his master informed about various famous arrivals and departures.
These days, Salman checks the guest list before attending any event. If he sees the names of the people he hates or wants to avoid, he makes a point to send his informers ahead, who then coordinate with the actor. His hit list is long --- Bachchans, John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapur…………

Division of UP
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayavati has dropped a bombshell of sorts declaring that if Centre pilots a bill to divide Uttar Pradesh into three smaller states, she and her party will support it.
Congress' in-house policy makers like Jairam Ramesh are of the view that much of UP's political and economic problems come from its unwieldy size and population. The extension of this logic is to divide country's most populous and politically significant state into three---Vindhyachal (consisting of eastern Uttar Pradesh) Avadh (central) and Harit Pradesh (green state consisting of western UP districts).
The Samajwadi Party is opposed to the proposal fearing that it will diminish its clout. The BJP is okay with the idea as it hopes to gain in two "states"--Vindhyachal and Avadh--- and emerge as key figure in the third. But it is the Congress, which is in the biggest dilemma. Firstly as a committee under Pranab Mukherjee has clearly stated the grand old party is opposed to creation of new states. Secondly division of UP would mean Congress formally ending its dream of coming to power at the centre on its own strength.

Bollywood's latest Gimmicks
Once upon a time, Bollywood's studios used to battle it out with A-list actors leading from the frontlines. The action has now shifted from actors to animated characters.
After the super success of Hanuman, a leading picture company is about to release a sequel titled Hanuman Returns. The Percept Picture Company is also working on another animation film that will take on Yash Raj's animation flick titled "Roadside Romeo", about a couple of canines. Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are dubbing for the same. In another project, an elephant in the lead role is making a Jumbo vs Pooch contest.
The big question doing rounds in Bollywood is, if the elephant will take the wind out of the dog! The promos of these films are making smart digs at each other. One promo shows the elephant bellowing at the dog and scaring him away. The dog has an uncanny resemblance to the Roadside Romeo dog. |
